Basketball Recap: Southern Alamance Patriots vs. Person Rockets
The Southern Alamance Patriots had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-41 win over Person. Southern Alamance pushed the score to 47-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rockets cut but never quite recovered from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern Alamance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sunny Yarnell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yarnell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Brouillard, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Southern Alamance is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for Person, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Orange the next time they take the court. Person will host Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Southern Alamance will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
