Basketball Recap: Odem Comes Up Short

Odem lost against Sinton back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Odem Owls took a blow against the Sinton Pirates, falling 64-11. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1436th, while the Pirates are ranked 589th).

Harper Dredla was Odem's leading scorer, having posted six points. Adriana Grady held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Odem has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Sinton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Odem didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-15 loss against George West on the 30th. As for Sinton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-41 defeat against Calallen on the 30th.
