Recap: Millikan Rams vs. Compton Tarbabes
The Millikan Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 78-57 margin over Compton. The win was a breath of fresh air for Millikan as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Millikan was led to victory by David Nichols and Dylan Williams. Nichols scored 22 points along with two steals, while Williams scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Nichols grabbed two or more steals. Ryan Ocampo was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists.
Compton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Oshon Mitchell, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jashon Finley, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Millikan's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Compton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millikan will challenge Long Beach Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Long Beach Poly will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Compton, they will head out on the road to square off against Morningside at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Morningside is on a three-game streak of home losses, Compton a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
