Basketball Game Preview: Panguitch Bobcats vs. Escalante Moquis

Panguitch is 10-0 against Escalante since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Panguitch Bobcats will host the Escalante Moquis at 7:00 p.m. Panguitch has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 172 points over their last three matchups.

Last Thursday, Panguitch beat Piute 60-48. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly 12 points.

Panguitch had a senior duo take command as Bridger Chappell dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards and Daxton Miller dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Chappell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Remme Chappell, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Escalante played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Green River and fell 87-50. The Moquis were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-20.

Panguitch's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Escalante, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything went Panguitch's way against Escalante in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Panguitch made off with a 68-45 victory. In that game, Panguitch amassed a halftime lead of 37-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
