Basketball Recap: North Eugene Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Eugene proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 24) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 win over the Newberg Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Highlanders have posted since January 10th.

North Eugene's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Gray, who shot 50% from the field en route to 30 points and five boards. The contest was Gray's third in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Robinson, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 17 points.

The win (which was North Eugene's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Eugene will take on South Eugene at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newberg, they will welcome Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
