Volleyball Recap: Cienega Takes Down Ranked Red Mountain

Cienega faced Red Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Cienega came out on top against Red Mountain by a score of 2-0.

Cienega's offense was headlined by Andrew Keen and Dawson Briggs, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Caiden Mott and his 15 assists. Finally, Briggs was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Cienega has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Red Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cienega will host Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catalina Foothills will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Cienega surely won't give up without a fight. As for Red Mountain, they will take on Skyline at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Mountain is facing Skyline at the right time seeing as Skyline is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
