Baseball Recap: Lawrence Takes a Loss

Lawrence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Cassopolis Rangers. On the bright side, the two- run performance marked the Tigers' highest-scoring game to date.

Lawrence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Miller, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. That hit marked the first that Miller got this season.

Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Cassopolis, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Lawrence will square off against White Pigeon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.4 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cassopolis, they will welcome Centreville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
