Basketball Recap: Richland Northeast Comes Up Short

Richland Northeast lost against Lancaster back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Richland Northeast Cavaliers took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancaster Bruins. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Richland Northeast lost, don't look at Sasha Cebula. Despite the final result, she posted nine points and six steals. That's the most steals Cebula has posted since back in January of 2024.

Lancaster's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kemarja Peay led the charge by going 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points. Peay continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Baskins, who had 14 points.

Richland Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Lancaster, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Richland Northeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-18 loss against South Pointe on the 29th. As for Lancaster, they have also already played their next game, a 57-51 defeat against A.C. Flora on the 31st.
