Preview: Cruz Dragons vs. Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros
The Cruz Dragons will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros at 10:30 a.m. on February 10th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-20, which was the final score in Cruz's tilt against Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus on Monday. Cruz has not had much luck with Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Cristo Rey Jesuit's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Sunday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 37-24 to Goode STEM Academy.
Cruz's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Cruz was able to grind out a solid win over Cristo Rey Jesuit in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 48-41. Will Cruz repeat their success, or does Cristo Rey Jesuit have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
