Preview: Allen vs. Wausa

Allen (5-2) and Wausa (4-3) are set to face off this Thursday. Both teams have had struggles on the defensive side of the ball, with Wausa giving up an average of 34 points per game and Allen allowing an average of 32.

Allen didn't have too many spare points last week in its contest with Emerson-Hubbard, but it still walked away with a 44 - 40 win. Junior Kyle Smith was especially active in the win, finding the end zone an impressive three times. This sound performance was nothing new for Smith, who has been a rock for Allen in the past seven games. Senior Blake McCorkindale was in the mix too, providing Allen with three touchdowns.

As for Wausa, it can now show off three landslide victories after its game last week. It took its game last week with a confident 50 - 26 score. Wausa's offense might have been extra motivated to turn things around after difficulties scoring in its previous game.

The last time they met, Allen was the 47 - 20 victor. It was able to move the ball a lot more (334 yards compared to 231 yards), a gap Wausa will be looking to close this time around. Will Allen come out on top again? We'll soon find out.
