Basketball Recap: Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Takes a Loss

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake lost against Colonie Central back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans had to suffer through a 71-16 loss at the hands of the Colonie Central Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 12th).

Taniyah Monforte was Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's leading scorer, having posted six points. Monforte also led the team in rebounds with five.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Colonie Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-12 victory against Schenectady on the 7th. As for Colonie Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 72-50 win against Guilderland on the 7th.
