Softball Recap: Monarch Has No Trouble Against West Boca Raton

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Monarch had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the West Boca Raton Bulls as they made off with a 10-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mia Macaione spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mylie Carlson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Gabriela Pearson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Monarch now has a winning record of 11-10. As for West Boca Raton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Monarch nor West Boca Raton have any future games scheduled.
