Basketball Recap: Greater Cabarrus S Comes Up Short

Greater Cabarrus S played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 88-11 defeat at the hands of the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers. The Stallions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-10.

Miley Bargesser was Greater Cabarrus S's leading scorer, having posted six points. Amelia Helms held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Devin Long was her usual excellent self, going 14-for-20 en route to 34 points in addition to five assists and five steals for Legion Collegiate Academy. That's the most steals Long has posted since back in December of 2024. Aiyana Murrell was another key player, putting up ten points and seven boards.

Greater Cabarrus S dropped their record down to 7-20 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, their win bumped their record up to 20-13.

Greater Cabarrus S wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 74-17 defeat against Christ the King on the 13th. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 60-54 victory against Butler on the 11th.
