Soccer Game Preview: Vidor vs. Silsbee

Vidor is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Silsbee Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Vidor's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Thursday, Vidor didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty and fell 2-1. One reason for the loss might be Vidor's aggressive play style: Maikel Justiz-Suarez and Shay Stacy were both handed yellow cards.

Vidor's goal came courtesy of Daykel Justiz-Suarez, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, Silsbee fell victim to Hargrave and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Silsbee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 566th, while Hargrave are ranked 189th).

Vidor's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-2. As for Silsbee, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything went Vidor's way against Silsbee in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as Vidor made off with a 4-1 victory. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
