Basketball Preview: Academy for Urban Scholars Hawks vs. East Palestine Bulldogs
The Academy for Urban Scholars Hawks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the East Palestine Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-22, which was the final score in Academy for Urban Scholars' tilt against the Lions last Friday. Academy for Urban Scholars has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, East Palestine took a serious blow against the Eagles on Saturday, falling 70-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East Palestine has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, East Palestine had strong showings from Kyler Bourne, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds, and Owen Jurjavicic, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Academy for Urban Scholars has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for East Palestine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
