Basketball Recap: Franklin Monroe Takes a Loss

Franklin Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 61-21 loss at the hands of the Ansonia Tigers. The Jets were probably out for revenge after losing 45-19 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Franklin Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Ansonia, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Monroe will take on Catholic Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Franklin Monroe is facing Catholic Central at the right time seeing as Catholic Central is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Ansonia, they will head out to challenge Lehman Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ansonia will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Lehman Catholic will have lost five straight heading into Saturday's contest.
