Recap: Orland Trojans vs. Lassen Grizzlies
The Orland Trojans extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Lassen Grizzlies. They blew past the Grizzlies 41-21. The win was familiar territory for Orland who now have 11 in a row.
Orland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Manny Rodriguez, who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Rodriguez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. Another player making a difference was Isaac Velasquez, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Orland's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Lassen, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
Orland has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Woodland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Woodland Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Lassen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
