Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Finds Home Court Redemption Against Smoky Valley

There's no place like home for Chaparral, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Smoky Valley Vikings by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Roadrunners were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Vikings, so the Roadrunners were just returning the favor.

Chaparral not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Smoky Valley between 19 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19.

Makiya Maka paced Chaparral's offense, picking up nine kills. Maka got some help from Emily Harding and her 16 assists. Maka was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Chaparral's win bumped their record up to 17-15. As for Smoky Valley, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-18.

Chaparral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Belle Plaine on the 7th. As for Smoky Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Central Christian Academy on the 4th.
