Football Game Preview: Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers vs. Perry County Vikings

The Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers will head out to face off against the Perry County Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central will be strutting in after a win while Perry County will be coming in after a defeat.

Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central took a 22-point loss the last time they faced off against McEwen, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Warriors on Friday.

A big part of Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's win came down to the chemistry between Braxton Howard and his top target Brady Roberts. Howard threw for 299 yards and one TD while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt while Roberts picked up 122 receiving yards and one touchdown. What's more, Howard racked up 120 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August.

Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Grayson Thompson, Roberts, and Nic King picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Perry County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The game between the Vikings and Collinwood didn't end well, with the Vikings falling 32-14.

Perry County's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-3.

Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central lost to Perry County on the road by a decisive 39-22 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
