Softball Recap: Lourdes Academy Comes Up Short

Lourdes Academy managed to slip by Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Lourdes Academy lost 11-4 to Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart on Monday. Lourdes Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jaqueline Perez-Abreu made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February. Valerie Portuondo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Lourdes Academy dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Lourdes Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-1 loss against Key West on the 26th. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Immaculata-La Salle on the 26th.
