Softball Recap: Space Coast Wins Going Away Against Cocoa Beach

While Space Coast put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Cocoa Beach. Space Coast blew past Cocoa Beach 15-0. Considering the Vipers have won six matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Paige Reynolds made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Cameron Flaskamp was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ana Muniz, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Space Coast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Space Coast's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Cocoa Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

When Space Coast and Cocoa Beach next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Space Coast will try to stop Rockledge's six-game winning streak when they meet at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cocoa Beach will challenge Astronaut and their four-game winning streak at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
