Basketball Recap: Eastland Extends Winning Streak to Five

Eastland won the last time they faced Millsap and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eastland Mavericks walked away with a 39-27 win over the Millsap Bulldogs. The victory was familiar territory for the Mavericks who have now won five games in a row.

Despite the loss, Millsap still got an impressive performance from Kaleigh Wooldridge, who posted three points in addition to 12 steals and six boards. Wooldridge has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 23 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cori Ground, who put up eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.

Eastland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Millsap, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-24.

Eastland will welcome City View at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Eastland is on a five-game streak of home wins, City View a eight-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Millsap does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
