Football Recap: Hueytown Golden Gophers vs. Percy Julian Phoenix
Hueytown had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 28-21 win over the Percy Julian Phoenix on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Golden Gophers as they're now sitting on six straight.
Although Percy Julian took the loss, they still got scores from Bryson Mcgrew, Keshun Marbury, and Brendarion Hooks.
Hueytown pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points per game. As for Percy Julian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Hueytown will face off against Spanish Fort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Percy Julian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
