Softball Recap: Constantine Comes Up Short

Constantine fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Buchanan on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bucks by a score of 13-12. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Olivia Herlein made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Taryn Wolfinger was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Constantine has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season. As for Buchanan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bucks beat Constantine by a score of 9-8 later that day.
