Basketball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

Westside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 67-52 to the Brookland Bearcats. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Bearcats are ranked 12th).

Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Brookland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westside will challenge Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.72 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Brookland, they will square off against Gosnell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
