Burrillville had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 42-24 win over the Mt. Pleasant Kilties. The Broncos' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Burrillville was led to victory by Logan Gelinas and Leland Kelleher. Gelinas rushed for 58 yards and three touchdowns, while Kelleher rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.

Burrillville wouldn't let Mt. Pleasant keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Burrillville can thank Jackson Deschamps and Lucas Gustafson for forcing both of them.

Despite the loss, Mt. Pleasant saw an underclassman step up: Jordan Robertson threw for 240 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 37 yards. 93 of those passing yards were hauled in by Jose Perez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Burrillville will challenge Barrington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Woonsocket at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
