Basketball Recap: Mount Vernon Takes a Loss

Mount Vernon lost against Hayfield last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mount Vernon Majors were outmatched by the Hayfield Hawks and fell 72-32. The Majors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-10.

Hayfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Judy out in front who on his way to 20 points. What's more, Judy also posted an 88% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaron Mcfarlane, who posted ten points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Mount Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Hayfield, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Mount Vernon has already played their next match, a 72-57 loss against Robinson on the 24th. As for Hayfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-53 victory against Edison on the 21st.
