Volleyball Game Preview: Legacy Longhorns vs. Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles

The Legacy Longhorns will take on the Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Legacy comes in on nine and Somerset Sky Pointe on five.

Legacy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Sierra Vista, who was ranked 12th at the time (Legacy was ranked 11th). The Longhorns walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mountain Lions on Wednesday.

Legacy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 28-26, 25-15, 25-21.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Somerset Sky Pointe had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Grizzlies.

While Somerset Sky Pointe won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 27-25, 25-17.

Legacy pushed their record up to 22-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, their win bumped their record up to 23-8.
