Baseball Game Preview: Florence Eagles vs. South Jones Braves

For the second straight game, Florence will face off against South Jones. Florence will be playing at home against South Jones at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Florence is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Florence took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against South Jones, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Florence had just enough and edged out South Jones 2-1.

Rod Davis Jr. spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Florence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Florence's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for South Jones, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. However, it's not like South Jones struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts.
