Basketball Game Preview: Waterloo Tigers vs. Wayne Eagles

Waterloo is 1-9 against Wayne since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Waterloo Tigers will face off against the Wayne Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Wednesday, Waterloo didn't have too much trouble with School of the Arts as they won 65-47. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Silverhawks are ranked 545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wayne put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 74-62 win over Lyons.

Wayne pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Waterloo, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Waterloo took a serious blow against Wayne when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 72-39. Can Waterloo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
