Softball Recap: Alcoa Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Alcoa waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tornadoes also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Alcoa let Tori Haun and Adrianna King run wild. Haun scored a run while going 2-for-3, while King went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. Haun has been hot recently, having also posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Halle Bailey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Alcoa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boyd-Buchanan only posted a batting average of .118.

Alcoa's win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Alcoa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-5 defeat against Plainview on the 22nd. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they have also already played their next game, a 7-5 victory against Marion County on the 22nd.
