Soccer Game Preview: River Valley vs. Odyssey Institute

The River Valley Dust Devils will head out to face off against the Odyssey Institute Minotaur at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. River Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

River Valley fell victim to Wickenburg and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Wranglers.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Odyssey Institute was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They came up short against Northwest Christian, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Minotaur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Crusaders are ranked 31st).

Odyssey Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

River Valley suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Odyssey Institute when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Can River Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
