There's no place like home for Kinston, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs 26-24. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 14-13 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Genesis Wiggins was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 139 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry.

Another reason for the win was Kinston's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Wallace-Rose Hill's QB won't forget Davion Jones anytime soon given he sacked him 2.5 times. Kinston got some further help from Christian Ham: he picked up 1.5 sacks and made 15 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

When it comes to explaining why Wallace-Rose Hill lost on Friday, don't look at Jamarae Lamb. Despite the final result, he rushed for 168 yards and a pair of scores.

The win got Kinston back to even at 1-1. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kinston will head out to challenge North Lenoir at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they will venture away from home to face off against Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
