Softball Recap: Saugus Extends Winning Streak to Four

Saugus entered their tilt with Watertown on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Raiders 16-4. That's more bragging rights for the Sachems, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alannah Duong was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Danica Schena was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Saugus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Saugus' victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Watertown, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saugus will head out to face off against Danvers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Sachems' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Watertown, they will head out on the road to square off against Wakefield Memorial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
