Softball Game Preview: Brazosport Exporters vs. Columbia Roughnecks

Brazosport is 1-9 against Columbia since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Brazosport Exporters will head out to square off against the Columbia Roughnecks at 5:30 p.m. Brazosport will be strutting in after a victory while Columbia will be coming in after a loss.

Brazosport took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Stafford as Brazosport made off with a 16-1 win. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Exporters this season.

Meanwhile, Columbia has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 13-6 to Lamar Consolidated.

Brazosport has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Brazosport might still be hurting after the 11-4 loss they got from Columbia when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Brazosport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
