Basketball Recap: Central Skates Past Dundee-Crown with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Central's strategy against Dundee-Crown on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Central Rockets blew the Dundee-Crown Chargers out of the water with a 64-25 final score. The contest marked the Rockets' most dominant victory of the season.

Central found their leader in sophomore Julia Scheuer, who went 7 of 17 en route to 16 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds. Scheuer has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Waslo, who posted nine points and three steals.

Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

The win made it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 7-17. As for Dundee-Crown, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-23 record this season.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-37 loss against Geneseo on the 1st. Dundee-Crown has also already played their next contest (against Hampshire), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
