Soccer Recap: Metamora Comes Up Short

After flying high against Limestone on Friday, Metamora came back down to earth. The Redbirds came up short against the Dunlap Eagles on Tuesday, falling 7-0. If Metamora were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to Dunlap when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Metamora dropped their record down to 6-8-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Dunlap, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-3 record this season.

Metamora will face off against East Moline United at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Metamora's defense better be ready for this one: East Moline United have averaged an impressive 3.3 goals per game this season. As for Dunlap, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rochester at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
