Flag Football Game Preview: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Oceanside Pirates + Official Tickets

The Del Norte Nighthawks will head out on the road to challenge the Oceanside Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Del Norte will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Monday, Del Norte earned a 32-24 win over El Camino. Given the Nighthawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Wildcats are ranked 615th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Katelyn Maley had another great game (as she tends to do), throwing for 281 yards and five TDs. Those 281 passing yards gave her a new career-high. A healthy portion of Maley's aerial production (87 yards to be exact) went to Lauren Holmes, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Del Norte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dylan Angstead and Baylee Buell.

Meanwhile, Oceanside won against Canyon Crest Academy on Monday with 13 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Pirates beat Valley Center by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-6.

Del Norte's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Oceanside, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-9.

Everything went Del Norte's way against Oceanside in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Del Norte made off with a 32-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Nighthawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
