Soccer Game Preview: Cherokee vs. Volunteer

Cherokee hasn't had much luck against Volunteer recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chiefs will look to defend their home pitch against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Volunteer will be up against a hot Cherokee squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Chiefs put the hurt on Union County with a sharp 5-2 win on Thursday. While Cherokee didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-9-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Volunteer kept a clean sheet against Union on Thursday. They blew past the Bears 7-0. It was an even better day for Cameron Cox as he scored three goals for his team.

The victory made it two in a row for Volunteer and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Cherokee, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Cherokee skirted past Volunteer 1-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Chiefs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
