Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fairhope walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Baker Hornets 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since March 28th.

Addison Russell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emma Stewart was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Fairhope's win bumped their record up to 32-13. As for Baker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 33-14.

Fairhope didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-2 defeat against Central on the 13th. Baker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
