Baseball Recap: Indio Triumphs

While Indio's victory against Twentynine Palms wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rajahs skirted past the Wildcats 8-7. The Rajahs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Jorge Guerrero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Guerrero was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Indio got a massive performance out of Evan Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The Rajahs are undefeated when Rodriguez posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-8 otherwise. Ricky Cordova was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Indio's record is now 10-8. As for Twentynine Palms, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Indio will challenge rival Yucca Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Twentynine Palms is set to take on their familiar foe Coachella Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
