Basketball Recap: Loraine Comes Up Short

Loraine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were dealt an 83-33 loss at the hands of the Westbrook Wildcats. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Westbrook got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Browne out in front who went 6 for 11 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Those 12 points gave Browne a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Browne, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 17 points.

Loraine's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Westbrook, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Loraine will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hermleigh at 7:30 p.m. As for Westbrook, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Westbrook Wildcats face off against the Roby Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westbrook has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
