Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Penn Yan Academy). They blew past the Wayland-Cohocton Eagles, posting a 66-30 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Eagles are ranked 677th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Penn Yan Academy has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points per game. As for Wayland-Cohocton, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penn Yan Academy will welcome Newark at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wayland-Cohocton, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Naples at 6:00 p.m.
