Softball Recap: Broughton Takes a Loss

Broughton lost against Cardinal Gibbons on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Capitals lost 13-3 to the Crusaders. That's two games in a row now that the Capitals have lost by exactly ten runs.

Avery Troxell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Daphne Hall was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Broughton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Broughton is set to take on their familiar foe Enloe at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons will square off against rival Athens Drive at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
