Volleyball Recap: Independence's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Independence had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Beachwood Bison. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 2nd.

Independence not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Beachwood between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Independence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julia Jurkiewicz, who had four digs and two aces. Jurkiewicz is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Beachwood still got an impressive performance from Gianna Preston, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Beachwood, they moved to 10-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Independence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Lake Catholic on the 27th. As for Beachwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Cuyahoga Heights on the 29th.
