Port Allen has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.26 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Lab Cubs. The Pelicans' defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Jack Dickinson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Branagan Ponthieux, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

Port Allen's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for University Lab, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
