Softball Recap: Clinton Central Comes Up Short

Clinton Central extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 8-13 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Delphi Community Oracles. The game marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Nuriah Harvey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

As for Delphi Community, they now have a winning record of 12-11. They haven't had any issues with Clinton Central recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

On Delphi Community's side, the result came thanks to Mairi Cunningham's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.

On the hitting side, Sami Leopard was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Clinton Central will take on Bethesda Christian at 5:30 p.m. on the 27th. As for Delphi Community, they will square off against Rossville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Oracles surely won't give up without a fight.
