Mission Valley couldn't beat Hayden on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Vikings took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Kailynn Jacobson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Abby Sims was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Mission Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Hayden, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mission Valley beat the Wildcats by a score of 10-9 later that day.
