Basketball Recap: Castlewood Comes Up Short

Castlewood came up into this matchup off a tough 20-point defeat last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Rye Cove Eagles by a score of 62-59 on Friday. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Castlewood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Rye Cove, they moved to 1-6 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Castlewood will venture away from home to square off against Twin Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rye Cove has already played their next contest, a 74-32 defeat against Patrick Henry on the 18th.
