Basketball Game Preview: Goshen Central Gladiators vs. Cornwall Central Dragons

The Goshen Central Gladiators will take on the Cornwall Central Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Goshen Central didn't have quite enough to beat Port Jervis and fell 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Gladiators have suffered against the Raiders since February 12, 2020.

Meanwhile, Cornwall Central entered their tilt with O'Neill on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went their way against the Raiders as they made off with a 65-39 victory.

Cornwall Central pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Goshen Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Goshen Central was dealt a bruising 90-47 loss at the hands of Cornwall Central when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Goshen Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
